About

I’m Emily and I am passionate about living a conscious, balanced and healthy life and sharing that with others. I grew up understanding the importance of whole and healthy foods by planting a garden with my family every summer. My favorite quote by Michael Pollens says it all; “Don’t eat anything your great grandmother wouldn’t recognize as food.” I am originally from a small family farm in Idaho, and those country roots have taught me a lot about life, love and health. My passion for holistic wellness lead me to study nutrition meditation, yoga and psychology.

I have been working in the field of nutrition for 6 years now, and in 2013 I launched my private practice and had my first child in the same month! I am the co-founder of the DIYcleanse as well as Food Freedom Group Online Coaching with my friend and business partner Tenley Molzahn.

I believe a holistic approach to health issues makes the healing truly profound. Your body speaks your mind and I love using energy work, breath, meditation and movement in addition to clinical nutrition to heal ailments and imbalance from the root cause.

My education in nutrition came from three different schools, and my most recent credentials are from Functional Diagnostic Nutritionist (FDN). In 2005 graduated from the University of Idaho with a B.S in Psychology and then went on to study nutrition through the Natural Healing Institute and the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. Here I studied under many professionals including David Wolfe, Sally Fallon, Deepak Chopra and Dr. Andrew Weile. My long time love of ballet and dance lead me to my yoga practice and I completed my yoga certification in 2009.

As much as I love kale chips and acai bowls, I love chocolate and spicy margaritas too. Some other things I love are being a new mom, traveling to South Africa, photography, beach walks, creating new recipes, and spending time with the people I love.

Through the power of nutrition, yoga and meditation, I have spent a lot of time healing, and accepting life’s challenges as they have been handed to me. My unique and personalized approach to nutrition promotes a balanced lifestyle and lasting change. I hope to inspire others with my passion for healthy living, and a mindfulness to get a little NourishMint each day.
